While expanding your Umwelt

Amazingly, each of us is much bigger than we seem—each of us is truly a multitude. We can see evidence of this from observation that we literally have three brains of neural networks, situated in three different locations in our bodies: Head (cephalic brain), Heart (cardiac brain), and Gut (enteric brain). Those of us who are sensitive to subtle energies notice that we can tune into more than just these three areas in our body—which are often associated with other specific areas in our bodies such as the seven major chakras. In addition to these seven major energy centers, some chakra systems note additional chakras rising above the seventh crown chakra, representing higher levels of dimensional awareness. It turns out there exists some scientific evidence in support of human higher-dimensional consciousness.

Humans Think in 11 Dimensions

Neuroscientists in Switzerland working at the Blue Brain Project discovered in 2017 that models of human cognition most closely match computer models involving eleven dimensions. Researchers found that virtual neurons formed "cliques" with each neuron connected to others in ways that formed specific geometric objects. Large groupings of neurons would add more dimensions, which were observed to go up to 11. These structures would organize around a high-dimensional hole that the researchers called a "cavity." Results from this project were astonishing, revealing that while cells throughout the human body work in four dimensions (three spatial, and the fourth being time), the human brain routinely operates in seven dimensions, and sometimes up to eleven dimensions. This entire higher dimensional process happens quickly—in a flash--as soon as an appropriate stimulus arrives. Researcher mathematician Ran Levi states, "The appearance of high-dimensional cavities when the brain is processing information means that the neurons in the network react to stimuli in an extremely organized manner. It is as if the brain reacts to a stimulus by building then razing a tower of mult-dimensional blocks, starting with rods (1D), then planks (2D), then cubes (3D), and then more complex geometries with 4D, 5D, and so on." Once the brain processed the information, the clique and cavity vanished. These mult-dimensional appearing/disappearing "sandcastles" may help provide a clue to one of the biggest mysteries of brain function: Where and how are memories stored? Neuroscientist Henry Markram speculates, "They may be 'hiding' in high-dimensional cavities."

How can we tell that there may be some truth to this idea that we effectively live in our own kind of reality bubble? One way might be to encounter reality bubbles of other beings, who have non-human worldviews, or Umwelts.

Experience other Umwelts

One way we can begin to more fully receive what Nature is bringing us is to discover how other non-human beings experience different kinds of Umwelt. The term Umwelt comes from the field of Biosemiotics, which is the study of symbology and meaning within biological systems. Umwelt is a word describing the way that organisms of a particular species uniquely perceive and experience the world through their sensory filters. In this way, a human experience is different than that of a bat that flies around at night and uses echolocation and sonar to figure out where it is, viewing the world through a very different form of sensation than what humans experience. American cognitive psychologist, Donald Hoffman, explains that we do not directly experience reality, but rather everything that comes through our senses of sight, sound, taste, touch and smell is no longer what it actually is in fullest reality, but rather our interpretations. We do not perceive objective reality, but rather a simplified user interface, created by our brains, in much the same way that our computer desktop has icons that are not the actual files or programs, but rather simplified representations that make it easier to interact with them. We can thus begin to gain a sense of the way that every species engages with different kinds of "icons on desktops." When we step back from our human bias of what reality comprises and take a look at the entire tree of life containing all known lifeforms on Earth, we see that even our labels of such things as: Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus and Species are based on making rather arbitrary delineations of groupings. When we step back far enough, we can see that we humans are just part of one great big family tree.

I recently visited an Equine Guided Education ranch, focused on the way that we humans can greatly benefit from learning how we are showing up in the world, based on the way horses respond and react to us. I've watched a wonderful interview with Melinda Iverson Inn talking with Casari Ranch visionary leader and author, Ariana Strozzi Mazzucchi, sharing insights as to the value we can gain from softening our hard external boundaries to open to fuller experience of others. What's so interesting about this approach to me is that we can learn a lot from a horse. The whole idea of Equine Guided Education is that instead of telling the animal what to do from the human point of view, you instead bring your attention to fully experiencing your relationship with the horse. In this process, you can discover what you are bringing that you might not yet be consciously aware of. For example, if someone has just had a rough day at work, and they show up just wanting to jump on and ride the horse, they may be surprised to see that the horse turns away and walks away. When that person wonders why they can't ride that horse, they might begin to become conscious of the way they are constantly broadcasting everything being thought and felt at all those levels of head, heart, and gut.

Enjoy Meaningful Relationships through Shared Umwelts

One thing that I've witnessed consistently since first starting my research in the field of reality shifts, quantum jumps, and the Mandela Effect is that these phenomena are showing us the fluid, ever-changing way that mind-matter interaction operates. As I first began pointing out in my book, Reality Shifts, reality is like a dream, where we can witness consciousness interacting with the physical world. As we become aware that each of us has an Umwelt which is our personal worldview specific to our own unique mindset, and then a cultural Umwelt from our culture, and then a human Umwelt from being a human being—then what happens when we expand that? Well, that's where "How good can it get?" comes in as the question I love to ask. Because when you start asking that question and expanding your Umwelt—your worldview—you open up to a whole new reality which is much wilder, weirder, and more wonderful than you might ever have imagined. In this experience, you can start to realize that you really are the consciousness observing you, the physical being, who is having this physical experience. You are the one who's awake within the dream, whether you're asleep or awake in waking life. And you are the one who can start relating to others in meaningful ways.

Happiness Springs from Meaningful Relationships

A few months ago I was recording my monthly video, and experiencing technical issues, such that it was taking me three hours to record a ten minute video. While I was feeling frustrated with a lack of making any progress, and working on how to fix the recording set-up, a wild squirrel came right up to me during this long stretch of time when I was trying to stay positive, but actually was rather flustered. I was surprised to see this sweet squirrel show up to frolic near my left foot, as if she was my pet who was doing her best to cheer me up, like, "Hey, look! I'm here doing little somersaults for you—I'm just being cute and adorable for you!" Then she cavorted off in a series of graceful flowing hops. A while later, she came back close to me again, this time climbing up on a branch of a cedar tree next to me, with a look on her face as if to say, "Hello, are you still needing cheering up?" And yes, I was! So that's how good it can get, and these are some of the gifts that Nature can bring when we need something. Nature can bring what we need, and it may come through in surprising ways.

Puzzle Piece Appeared and Disappeared

I was listening to the Gaia Consciousness podcast recently and I came across the episode where you talked about the Mandela Effect. I didn't even finish it yet because your story about the pictures your parents promised to take stopped me in my tracks. A few months ago, my brother was completing a puzzle I bought. He stayed up all night and ended up going to bed around 2 or 3 in the morning. I was up for work at 5 am like I usually am, and I noticed the puzzle was on the table completed. I just swiped my hand over it to feel the finished thing and I felt a piece on top of the puzzle. I was confused as to why he'd finish the whole thing and just leave out one piece, so I put it in the spot it was supposed to go in, and left for work. When I got home, the puzzle was still on the table and I was planning on gluing it together but now the pieceI had put in that morning was gone! I asked him to give it back so I could glue it all together, but he said he couldn't find the last piece the night before so he never finished it. I told him it was right on top of the puzzle and I put it in that morning and he insisted that wasn't possible. I accused him of lying because he's been caught lying in the past, but he pleaded his innocence and showed me a picture he'd sent to his girlfriend after he finished where he vented to her about not being able to find the last piece. Up until yesterday, I was so sure he'd taken it and had just been lying about having the piece for some unknown reason, but after hearing your story, I'm starting to believe that we were both telling the truth. I didn't take a picture of the completed puzzle Because I didn't think the piece would be gone when I got home, but to this day, the piece still hasn't been found. Is this an example of the Mandela Effect or is this something else? I remember putting in the piece so vividly because it didn't fit the first time and I had to turn it upside down, but I started to think I just made the whole thing up! But why would I even create such a random vivid memory? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

Note from Cynthia: Thanks so much for your letter, where you described your experience from a few months ago, when your brother stayed up very late one night to complete a puzzle—except for one piece, up on top of otherwise perfectly finished puzzle. I love how this “puzzling” matter of why your brother would leave one piece on top of the puzzle, rather than completing the puzzle—because this surprising sight of an almost-but-not-quite-completed puzzle, combined with your sensory experience of placing that last puzzle piece gives you a solid anchor memory of what you know for sure you experienced that night. This is important, because when you got home from work later that day after you placed that last piece in the puzzle, it was missing again. If you and your brother inspected that photograph he took of his almost-finished-puzzle that he sent to his girlfriend, then you've got photographic evidence that there is no extra puzzle piece sitting on top of the others. I'd say that when you look at that photograph that your brother took, and you can verify there's no single puzzle piece hiding on top, then this does sound like a classic appearing-disappearing type of reality shift / personal Mandela Effect.

Hello Cynthia, just a quick cute note. I was in Tai Chi / Qi gong class and after class the teacher pulled me to one side and said "I am not sure what is going on but you were lit up from the inside today! You were positively glowing! I laughed and and said "It's because during certain moves, I am thinking HOW GOOD CAN IT GET?

Lion and Lamb Bible residue in ACIM

I was just reading A Course in Miracles, and I found residue of a mandela effect. On page 43, it says "The lion and the lamb lying down together refers to the fact that strength and innocence are not in conflict but naturally live in peace." I remember IMEC covering how the lion and the lamb are now a wolf and a lamb, and I just can't get used to that. I know I'm not the only one who remembers the lion, so I appreciate seeing it in a book! My copy was printed in 2012, so I know it must have changed after that. Anyway, I'm sorry to hear that IMEC is moving in a different direction, but I hope all is well with you.

Note from Cynthia: Thanks so much for sharing with me that you found this reality residue of the lion and the lamb in "A Course in Miracles." Yay--I love this! It's the Bible itself that's changed with the "lion" now showing up as "wolf", so sometimes we'll find other books and materials that show things the way we remember. I'm already missing our IMEC organization, too. It's still a 501(c)3 organization through 2025, and I'm ever so grateful for all the wonderful times we had together in person and with our streaming events.

Dear Cynthia!
It's interesting: we just had the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, which reminded me of an Ukrainian participant in 2007, Verka Serduchka with His song "Lasha Tumbaj". It caused a huge wave of reactions from the Russian side: as they – understood - wanted to understand - were made to understand 'Russia goodbye' - which was originally meant to be in the lyrics - it was hard for the artist to accept this part of the song to be censored. What he did was shifting 'Russia goodbye' ' into something sounding similar, especially when sung loud with costumes and ights. The Russians got provoked and angry anyway. Was it the artists former Intention to write, sing & perform 'Russia goodbye' ', the Russians' old befiendedness with the Ukrainian or a Mandela Effect in reverse: intentionally made up for political correctness and blown by the Russians in their (non) Intention to misunderstand the song. Strong feelings and emotional expansions and boundaries may have played a role here as well as the history of two countries.

In addition now that i am emailing you I had really enjoyed Kimberly Lynn Hanson’s talk that she originally gave at the Ketchum conference. Her philosophy was so refreshing very much in alignment with yours. I remember that she is your friend as well. I know that she has taken off her talk and then recently saw that it is also off of Shane’s. I hope she is still doing well. Too bad that is not still available. Please keep doing what you do and being who you are. I especially love it when you share the stories that I feel the Fairies, Angels and the elementals are producing magic for you. Like when the milk appeared or the spice returned, daughter’s tooth etc. Some day I wiould love to interview you about your magical experiences, I think the world needs much more of what you already know. The question of how people see the same shape and pattern has a lot to do with groups of observers sharing similar perspectives, or "Wigner bubbles." Physicist Eric Cavalcanti coined the term, "Wigner Bubble" to investigate implications of the Wigner's friend paradox, in which physicist Eugene Wigner hypothesized that two observers at the same place and same time might conceivably observe completely different events. This notion was experimentally proven to be true, and was formally reported in a scientific publication in 2019. So now that we have increasing evidence that groups of observers see something similar, we can hopefully further get to the bottom of the question you ask--how do groups of people see such similar shapes and patterns?

Hi Cynthia,
I am reading your book about the Mandela Effect with great interest. Much of what I read makes me think and/or resembles what A Course In Miracles teaches. You might be familiar with this (self) study course. It aims at undoing the ego by remembering and reconnecting with the Spirit we truly are via a mind training course. I became A Course in Miracles Student in 2019. Unfortunately many ACIM students get stuck in endlessly reading the Course Textbook and doing the Workbook lessons without making progress in waking up from this "dreamworld". They do not seem to be able to open up to Spirit and experience the "unreality" of our so called "life". The students who want to really wake up often look for other spiritual modalities ( and are let by Spirit) outside ACIM to assist them with waking up. I can imagine ACIM students contacting you for this very purpose. My questions are:
- are you familiar with ACIM?
- do ACIM students contact you for assistance or otherwise?
