The biggest message I received this past year is that no matter how things may appear—you’ve got this. I received this intuitive message in two parts—first: Don’t give up, and secondly, Reach farther than seems possible. I sense a kind of spiritual resilience in this message, of the sort that invites conscious expansion and growth beyond any perceived limitations.

At this time of my solar return, I look back on how last year, 2025, was an unusual year, since it gave me the opportunity to save the lives of five trees. I’d certainly not experienced anything like that before. Four were outdoor trees, and the fifth was my beloved 40 year old ficus. I’ve never before seen so many of my dear plants so close to death at one time, and I am grateful that I’ve been able to encourage all five to come back from the brink of death (in some cases seriously root-damaged, and in other cases completely lacking leaves). After providing extensive tender loving care, all of these survived and are now thriving. I’m left with a sense that we’re now experiencing times that can lead some of us to feel like giving up—yet, when we reach out to encourage, inspire, and assist one another, we can survive and thrive. Even when we find ourselves in challenging times.

Are challenging times naturally conducive to evolutionary growth? Nature seems to answer this question with an emphatic, “YES!” As I share in my new book, The Mandela Effect and its Society:

• The scientific assumption that organisms experienced random mutations was seriously shaken in 1988 by a proposal by Harvard professor John Forster Cairns, who suggested that the organisms themselves preferentially produced beneficial mutations. Cairns E. coli bacteria experiments demonstrated that in times of stress, when the bacteria were starved from food they were capable of digesting, they made “adaptive mutations” to be able to receive nutritive sustenance from a food source they’d never been able to consume before. This phenomenon in which E. coli mutated exactly the most optimal genes precisely when that mutation was required had no known basis nor explanation from established theories in genetics—and indeed seemed to contradict one of the central dogmas of molecular biology, that information only flows in one direction during transcription from DNA out to proteins to a cellular organism environment. John Cairns, Julie Overbaugh and Stephan Miller proposed a mechanism that what might be happening is that “the cell could produce a highly variable set of mRNA molecules and then reverse-transcribe the one that made the best protein.”

Yet, amidst all of these external material pressures, humanity is showing evidence of evolving to meet these challenges. Much like lactose-intolerant bacteria that miraculously evolve in one generation to be able to digest lactose-based nutrient agar on their Petri dish, evidence suggests that humanity has arrived at an evolutionary tipping point where we, too, can transcend apparent limitations.


Our evolutionary jump point

Evidence exists in the evolutionary fossil records that quite often, when individuals in a species undergo an evolutionary leap, they do so more like discontinuous changes, rather than like smooth ramps. Species are typically pushed into such evolutionary moments due to four primary factors: Mutation, Migration, Genetic Drift and Natural Selection.

In most recent written human history, Homo sapiens has been fairly stable in the form of what we consider to be modern humans for about the past 300,000 years. We don’t have much in the way of archived written records for the vast majority of this time period, so we may well wonder what we might learn from challeges of the past. Some scientists attribute the 300,000 year evolutionary change point to be correlated with high climate variability during a time period between 356,000 to 50,000 years ago—when Earth’s elongated orbit around the sun led to a long period of arid-moist fluctuation in Africa. Three other types of humanoid species died out in this time of climatic upheaval: Homo erectus, who’d been around for over a million years; Homo florensiensis, who’d thrived for about 500,000 years; and Homo neanderthalensis.

Amidst those challenging times, at some point between 90,000 and 70,000 years ago, severe drought and climate fluctuation occurred around the same time as a reduction in the total number of human beings to no more than 10,000 human adults of reproductive age. If it ever seems that we are facing a similar point of depopulation, hopefully we can expand into the fullness of our quantum jumping capabilities, and remember to observe with love, discernment, and clarity. After all, the deceptively simple act of observation contains the powerful capacity to influence what is “out there” in physical reality.

Intuitive message for these times
Our reach extends farther than we think

I’ve been receiving intuitive messages recently that encourage me to literally reach for something that seems just beyond my grasp. Despite a bit of a reach being involved, I am amazed each and every time that by stretching just a bit farther than I thought possible, I could pick up what seemed too far away. I see the meta message in these moments, with awareness that just because I assume, expect, believe or have experienced that I have certain limitations, those might not be true in this moment. And each and every time, I am finding that I can indeed reach farther than I thought possible.

I realize that I was also seeing evidence of this in my experiece rescuing the five trees that I helped to save this past year, including my 40+ years old pet ficus tree, that I was given in 1984. Rescuing the ficus took days of effort, and involved me hand-washing its root system at a time when it was down to just a dozen or so leaves. Amidst this delicate repotting operation, a man walked past me, smiling and nodding with friendly confidence as one might address a friendly colleague, saying reassuring things about, “It looks like you’re ensuring it has sufficient nitrogen.” I nodded in cordial agreement, while feeling vulnerable, since at that point, I was keenly aware that I was not a tree expert, and that I had no assurance my dear tree would survive so many shocks and environmental insults. I later viewed the business card he’d left on the porch, and saw he was a tree expert! I took this to be a very positive sign that God is in the details!


Be discerning and clear
about adopting new trends

It’s easy to get swept up in our own personal challenges and hardships, and feel we’re left out or cut off from those who care and might assist us. And in this time of rapidly evolving technology, we might assume we have no choice other than to adopt what’s being rolled out, or get left out. But there is always at least a third way—to live according to your high standards and discernmet.

At this time when driverless Waymo vehicles are making the news for causing traffic jams, running over cats and dogs, and not always allowing passengers to exit their vehicles, we would do well to opt out of being early adopters of anything that seems inadequate or dangerous. This precautionary principle can also be heeded with respect to chatGPT style systems, if you notice them offering false or inaccurate information, lying, steering you and/or your attention away from what you are actually most interested in, or generally contributing to any kind of cognitive laziness on your part.

These challenging times are precisely the moment when we can lead the way forward, envisioning the kind of world we’d most like to see dawning. Living true to our highest values and ethics can help to ensure that we are expecting similarly high standards from all we create and co-create—including Artificial Intelligence.

We humans are natural-born artists, creatives, and problem-solvers, and we have the potential to thrive best when stretching our presumed limits, rather than reigning ourselves in. We Homo sapiens--wise humans—can surprise ourselves in the best way when facing challenges, and choosing to try new approaches, while maintaining high standards, without giving up.

The way that we focus all levels of our conscious agency matters—including our Beliefs, Motivation, Focused Intention, and connection to Source. We can sense when we’ve attained a state of harmonious alignment between ourself and all around us, by noticing this state of being feels authentic, focused, in service to highest good, detached, with both a sense of Beginner’s Mind and a commanding presence.

Doe seen by me, but not my dog

Thank you so much for your video, Find Your Flow. Your story about the crane and you and your dog resonated with me. Several weeks ago I was walking with my dog inbetween rain showers and below a bright patch of sky I looked down to see a doe standing a couple houses down in the front yard. She was in attentive “freeze” and she and I were totally attuned to one another. I looked down and realized my Silken had either not heard or seen her, and my decision to turn and not walk right past her did not change that. He went along as usual and she and I got to commune for another short block as she watched us until we rounded the next corner. I felt her blessing of unconditional love, which came right before a sudden health ordeal and helped carry me through it and accept the unconditional love of the friends neighbors and family who are nursing me back to help. During it all I had to make a trip to the hospital and as we drove out of the parking lot under a momentarily open sky, there another doe was walking along side the road right next to the car. I love that you use nature as a way to explain these experiences, because that’s where they happen for me too! Blessings to you Cynthia!

Note from Cynthia: How wonderful that you had an experience of such beautiful attunement with that deer while on a walk with your dog—with special feelings of her blessings of unconditional love for you. I am so glad to hear that after this special moment, you have been much more able to accept the love of friends, neighbors, and family who are there to support you. This really does feel like you received some very special messages, especially since you saw another deer walking right next to the car! This kind of loving support from Nature is just the best. I received a gift of a mini pine Christmas tree with adorable pine cone attached, just before Christmas, and could feel the love of this special gift. Telepathic connection in senior center

I feel it too! (In response to: How Can We Best Enter Earth’s New Golden Age?) It definitely seems to be easier, and I have a comfort and confidence within me. I can see them above us, and sense of peace while people outside of me see chaos. I am here in Portland, so there is some crazy. I’m a caregiver in a senior center for clients with dementia. Sometimes I connect with them on a telepathic level—one in particular, who occasionally winks at me. I love her so. I’d like to research this more, how to help them get through more clearly. I started asking for sign posts towards that manifestation Thank you for all your shares!

Note from Cynthia: I’m hearing from more and more people noticing that telepathy is going more mainstream, and that it’s getting easier to hear people’s thoughts before they say basically the same thing that was just heard telepathically. I’m sensing that humanity is right at this moment undergoing a kind of evolutionary shift that some of us can witness through such things as telepathic conversations with plants, animals, and other human beings. And some of us are definitely noticing increasing peace, while others see crowds and chaos. It feels to me like we really and truly are at the threshold of the dawning of a new Golden Age. Dear Cynthia,
I’d like to share an experience with you. My partner Mike was running a very high fever, so I took him to the Emergency Room (ER). It was 10pm, and since we are living in Florida with the “Snow birds” here from up north, I was concerned that we’d have a long wait. At a previous visit we waited over a hour in the waiting room of the ER. As I drove up to the hospital I saw the parking lot was full so I dropped him off at the front door and searched for a place to park. As I went in I was shocked to see that there wasn’t a single person in the waiting area except the receptionist! Mike was already in the triage so I went in with him. I asked the nurse, “Isn’t it odd there’s no one in the waiting room?” She replied, “The whole ER is packed. There are no beds available.” I asked how long did she think it would take to get a room. She said she’d go check. She returned two minutes later, and told us to follow her. The ER is in a circle with the nurses station in the middle. You are able to see all the rooms from the nurses station because it’s all glass. There are 18 rooms around the station. I’ve been here numerous times and it’s very chaotic. As we walked in to the ER, I noticed that there wasn’t anyone there! Room 3 had a nurse sitting on a chair with a patient chart and no patient. All the other rooms were empty! Except room 8 had the curtain drawn. I noticed a woman standing near the curtain. I thought her boots were cute. We went to room 9. I saw two nurses, a cleaning lady and a doctor. That was it!!! When I said to the nurse, “Isn’t it strange that there’s no one here?” She replied, “The waiting room is packed.” What?! We were just there! And this was the exact same phrase the triage nurse had just said! I never saw nor heard the patient beside us. I thought this was starting to feel like we were in a Steven King movie. The cleaning lady pushed a cart with annoying squeaky wheels, stopping at our room to say, “You’ve been here a long time.” I looked at the clock and said, “Not really. Only 20 minutes.” She replied, “Yes, you’ve been here a long time.” Then she moved along with her squeaky cart. We were there for two hours. Two paramedics brought a woman in, and I was glad to see someone else there—except when I looked at the room they put her in, I saw that she was already in the hospital bed, and hooked up to monitors. The ambulance drivers were standing in the hall. How did they get all of this done in that short of a time? The one paramedic looked at me with the same look as the cleaning lady, and smiled. The other paramedic never looked at me. I felt as though he was asking me if that made me more comfortable with someone else being there. It was as though he was speaking to me telepathically. The woman was there half an hour, and I saw the nurse wheeling her out to be discharged. What is going on?! Two and a half hours later, Mike’s diagnosis was Covid. He was discharged, and we left. As we walked around the ER to leave, we noticed there wasn’t one person in the rooms. And the waiting room that the nurse said was packed. . . was empty! I took Mike home. In the middle of the night I woke up with this experience in my mind. I heard Mike was awake so I asked him, just to make sure that I didn’t dream this. I said, “Was there anyone in the waiting room?” He said, “No.” I asked if he found that strange? He said yes, and both nurses said it was packed! When I “asked” my higher self about this, I was told that this is how the different dimensions on Earth will be experienced. This is how it would be as the worlds separate. You will be able to experience some people that are on the same frequency as you are. Everyone else won’t be detectable. Kind of how as a medium I can see beings that others can’t. The ER and waiting room probably were packed. Just not at the dimension that we were on. I notice people slowly exiting, for lack of a better word, from my life. People I used to talk to almost on a daily basis I hardly think of or hear from unless I reach out to them. I feel this shift is going to be smooth but noticeable in an odd way. I’m so grateful that I have people like Mike to validate these events, planes sitting in the sky ect. I’m also grateful for the internet and being able to reach across miles to connect with others that are having similar experiences. Going through this alone could definitely be considered a bit crazy. I had to share this with you. I’d love to hear your take on this. Sending love,

Dear L.D.,
Thank you for writing to me and sharing your remarkable experience at the Emergency Room. Since you clearly have been to this ER previously, and seen it operating when it actually was quite busy, it seems truly odd that the medical staff this time kept repeating how crowded the waiting room was, when it was clearly empty for the entire time you were there. And the astonishing speed that you observed the paramedics getting an incoming female patient all settled into her room seems especially odd, in light of the other discrepancies. So to respond to your take on what may be happening, I’d say that yes, as strange as all this seems, we literally can witness different realities when we’re at the same place and same time as other observers. And we have scientific proof that this can and does occur! This discovery was made in a scientific research paper in 2019 that I feel ought to have made the front pages of the newspapers in the world. Scientists including Caslav Brukner at University of Vienna in Austria and Massimiliano Proietti at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh took this experimental concept and created an experimental apparatus involving lasers, beam splitters, and six photons to be measured by various equipment representing the role of the two observers. Preliminary results appear to provide real evidence that within quantum physics, our assumption of shared objective reality may be inaccurate. There is an expectation from many indigenous peoples, including the Hopi, that there will be a kind of timeline split coming soon—and what you describe at the Emergency Room the other night sounds like this might well be the way we see it when it’s here. And many people are noticing also that some people seem to no longer be there to talk with daily, who used to be a regular part of life before. We can be truly grateful to have one some special people in honored relationships in our lives. The importance of relationships and community is also emphasized by indigenous wisdom keepers, as I mention in my latest book, The Mandela Effect and its Society. Splintering relationships has been a weakness in our more modern day civilization, and something elders have specifically mentioned as an area we will do well to improve, for an optimal future for our children and future generations to come.

I just want to know what’s your idea about Hypnotism. Not with any strings of Mandela Effect, but as a normal old school idea. And neither implying any connect with the novel Death and the Spider. Is it a powerful force routinely used by persons of malicious intent? And can it be used to heal bodies through suggestions?

Dear Vivek,
Yes, some people, such as Gurdjieff, described how most people are “going through motions” like what we nowadays would call “auto pilot” and this kind of constant alpha brain wave state means we’re highly suggestible. Hypnosis can be utilized for good—such as to work with a person’s subconscious beliefs, and assist someone to lose weight, stop drinking alcohol or smoking, and so forth. It can also be utilized for good to help someone convince their subconscious that all is well. Sometimes our mantras can act a lot like hypnosis, and some people feel that’s why affirmations work. Hypnosis is utilized for corporate profits when Muzak is played in stores that suggests that people should buy more stuff while they’re out shopping. It’s entirely possible and even likely that hypnosis has been weaponized and used for malicious intent. Some people suggest this has already happened, and the plot of “The Manchurian Candidate” is real, and these programs exist.
